Other Than That, Mr. Lincoln
Two brothers named Lincoln and Booth–well, this will end well. Marin Theatre Company does Suzan-Lori Parks’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Topdog/Underdog, and I review it in today’s Marin Independent Journal. One point of interest for me is that a lot of it is about Three-card Monte and whether the mark ever has a chance to win. As a guy who actually fell for that con when I was 13, I learned the hard way that it doesn’t matter how closely you look. When money’s on the line, nothing’s left to chance.
